NOTES FROM THE ROAD: A WORLD TOUR
UPDATE IN WHICH DALLAS IS OUR FEATURED CITY
--For those of you who don't know,
Dallas is the most beautiful city in the Midwest, largely because of its aggressive stand against strip malls and traffic. Also, its citizens were uniformly garbed in pro-Bush t-shirts, most of them either blue or white, but some with red.
--Every Texan has the right to carry a concealed weapon, but we saw several who did not exercise that right.
--Our humble event at J. Pepe's
on Greenville began with writerboy Matthew Crouch throwing up, thanks to a poisoned sandwich his wife Sarah had given him days earlier. She was not throwing up.
--The size of the crowd was difficult to estimate, but reliable sources (Richard Miller, a people-counter) suggest that the number may have been around 675, if you include the number of people who looked at us as they drove by.
--Many people read articles on camera for our movie, but only one person read with a pair of briefs on her head. It was Molly, a UD student.
--Molly is good.
--Molly is from Bartlesville, OK.
--Molly. Oh, Molly.
--Next time, we will not request the same waiter,
as he seemed sort of pushy.
--Despite their constant assurances, the Winstead
sisters didn't show up.
--Nobody was dressed up funny, unless you call Todd
Ferguson's casual wear funny.
