BE ON THE LOOKOUT: THE CABLE GUIDE IS COMING, AND IT'S A KEEPER

by Laertes Davidowitz

TV Guide's The Cable Guide allows me to take control. Since my viewing time is limited (often as few as six hours a night) I must really make the most of my TV. The Cable Guide allows me to do just that. I can say "Hey! That really great episode of Golden Girls is on at 5:30pm on the Lifetime Network" and then I can flip over to "a very special two hour episode of Touched by an Angel" at 6:00pm and then move on at 8:00pm.  Obviously this publication is so rich with entertaining stories and up-to-the-minute informative graphs, you don't even need to be a cable subscriber to thoroughly enjoy it. What's more they even deliver it right to my front door every month.

This month's issue of The Cable Guide is the hottest so far this year. It is an exciting preview of the 2000 Summer Olympics which will be held down in Sydney, Australia, but it also carries the usual quality in-depth analysis of the can't-miss programming that we have come to expect. If you are like me (and I'm pretty sure you are), you’ be pleased to know that Gold Medal contender Marion Jones is featured on the cover. As if that weren't enough, this issue also has the "Cable for Kids: Twelfth Annual Fall Family TV Preview." This issue ranks right up there with February ’97, a beloved classic.
The quips underneath each photo let me know all the main information in order to make quality viewing choices for my evening. Beneath a picture of a wacky primate and a lovable pig reads the caption: "…a fine swine monkeys around in Babe: Pig in the City." I know it will be great. Below Sly's menacing mug it says "In Cobra, venomous Sylvester Stallone rattles criminals." Viewers beware.

As you can see, my life has really been simplified with one of the greatest viewing tools ever, The Cable Guide from the publishers of TV Guide. Thank you Cable Guide!
