NOTES FROM THE ROAD, THIS TIME FEATURING AUSTIN
--Our first visitor was a salesperson. She was nice.
Then nobody showed up for a few minutes. A baby named Jasmine was
our second visitor. She was nice, too.
--We set up our table within fifty feet of a large
Indian gathering. A sign said "Happy Aswati."
--None of us knew anything about no Aswati. Were they
making fun of us? Probably. But mainly they ignored us.
--Austin is a nice place. Most of the people who stopped
by our table had never heard of us, and when they found out what
we were doing, they left immediately.
--We shaked hands, and signed something.
--Bob Ramirez dropped by and had someone read his
work on video, then read the entire thing backwards. It sounded
pretty good both ways. Good job, Bob!
--All the footage we took had the "Night Shot"
setting on, so everyone looks as though they're staring at a headlight.
In other words, the effect is perfect.
--A guy named Brian stopped by and recorded words
that were said. They will probably be used against us in a court
of law.
--Be kind, Brian!
--Brian?
--Br-
--We left for Phoenix as soon as the event was over.
Unbeknownst to us, every gas station in Western Texas closes at
10 pm.
--We rant out of gas at 2 am.
--It was a mile from a gas station.
--We pushed and pushed.
--Then, for some reason, the car restarted!
--That was good, because we were tired of pushing
and it was cold.
--The gas station was open. Matt asked the gas station
lady why hers was the only open station within 200 miles, and she
said we were lucky she was open, and that normally she would be
closed, but she had heard there were lots of stupid people out on
the road that night.
--It's a pretty long drive from Austin to Phoenix.
