MANO A WOMANO, PART FIVE

or

How to Make your Cell Phone Ring “We’re Not Gonna Take It”, by Twisted Sister instead of Für Elise or Whatever

1)      Remove the back panel (you will need a small Philips’ screwdriver)

2)      Find the Ring Program Module. It should be a small blue or purple cylinder with two leads coming out one end and one lead coming out the other.

3)      When you have found the module, remove single lead from its terminal. The double lead must be left intact.

4)      Connect this terminal to a PCI port with a K2800bus45 cable (the kind used for overclocking a laser printer) and open a DOS prompt on the pc.

5)      Enter the command line

edit *&* j:\cd\cards\open\default\fureliseorwhatever

6)      In the “default” directory, there will be a file containing this sequence, or something like it:

1.012700
2.012600
3.012700
4.012600
5.012700
6.012200
7.012500
8.012300
9.012000

Change this sequence to read as follows:

            1.012700
2.012700
3.012200
4.012700
5.012900
6.012200

7)      Run the sischk.exe to ensure that the change has been recorded. If you receive a “type 301” error, repeat steps 5 and 6.

8)      Disconnect the K2800bus45 and re-connect the lead from the phone’s board. Re-attach the back panel with a Philips’ screwdriver.
